Dressing in a World of Endless Rainfall

  • X and Beyond 27 Griffenfeldsgade København N, 2200 Denmark (map)

X AND BEYOND is excited to present its summer show “Dressing In a World of Endless Rainfall” by up-and-coming Dutch designer Anne van Galen. The exhibition will be on display in our windows for six weeks followed by a finnisage event during Copenhagen Fashion Week. On August 11 the gallery will open for an expansion of the exhibition and a preview of COPE Collection, a new project exploring contemporary fashion’s engagement with the aesthetics and politics of disaster.

“Dressing In a World of Endless Rainfall” deploys a radical environmental scenario to prompt a critical imaginary that addresses the psycho-social aspects of a possible future. How would living in a constant downpour effect our body language, our notions of humanity and of public space?

“Dressing In a World of Endless Rainfall” is part of X AND BEYOND’s ongoing program Strange Ecologies, which focuses on the social impacts of unusual environmental changes. The exhibition also manifests X AND BEYOND’s collaboration with A Year Without a Winter, a multilocal exhibition and research project based at Arizona State University.

The exhibition is supported by bikubenfonden.
